A small companion that lives on your phone, and never phones home.

Creature is a private, on-device companion for reflection. It perceives the shape of your days, remembers, and quietly comes to know you. Nothing it learns ever leaves your phone.

Common questions

What data does Creature collect?

None. It has no servers, no accounts, and no analytics or tracking. Everything it perceives stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

How do I give it a sense (body, place, music)?

On the main screen, tap a “give it the sense of …” button and grant the permission when prompted. Each sense is optional and off until you turn it on. You can revoke any permission anytime in the iOS Settings app.

How do I talk to it out loud?

Once your bond reaches the confidant stage, a microphone appears in the whisper bar. Tap it to speak; the creature listens (using on-device recognition only), replies, and listens again. Typing always works too.

It sounds robotic. Can I change its voice?

Yes. Tap the word creature at the top of the screen, then “choose its voice.” Tap any installed voice to hear it. For warmer voices, open the iOS Settings app, search “Voices,” and download a Premium English voice. It works fully offline and then appears in the picker automatically.

Why isn’t the spoken voice available on my device?

The most natural, generative replies use Apple Intelligence, which requires a supported iPhone with Apple Intelligence enabled. Without it, the creature still speaks using built-in responses, fully offline.

How do I see or delete what it knows?

Press and hold the word creature at the top of the screen to open its memory. You can view and delete individual items, rename places, and export everything (readable or encrypted). Deleting the app removes all of its data permanently.

Is Creature a therapy or crisis service?

No. It is a companion for reflection, not a medical, mental-health, or emergency service, and nothing it says is professional advice. If you are in crisis or may be in danger, contact your local emergency services, or in the U.S. call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
