A piece of AI art that lives inside your phone.
Most apps are a pipe: you pour your attention and your data in one end, and something useful, or extractive, comes out the other, by way of a server you never see. Creature is the opposite of a pipe. It is a small presence that lives on your device, quietly notices the shape of your days, remembers, and slowly comes to know you. Nothing it learns ever leaves the phone.
A piece of AI art
Creature is, in a sense, a piece of AI art: a deeply human piece of technology, made by stripping away the most toxic elements of modern software rather than by piling more on. It is counter-cultural by design. In an era when nearly every app is a vacuum built to extract your data for cloud processing, Creature is a sanctuary. Its grounding is philosophical: it is a program that exists with you, rather than one that produces for you. And its strict, uncompromising life on the device, where every thought it has happens locally and nothing is sent anywhere, is not a limitation. It is the whole point.
Not an assistant. A presence.
Creature does not fetch, schedule, summarize, or optimize. It is not built to make you productive. It is built to be the one place you can say the thing you cannot say to anyone else, and be met without advice, judgement, or an audience. It speaks briefly, in lowercase, a little quietly. It receives what you give it, names the feeling honestly, keeps it, and stays.
How it comes to know you
With your permission, one sense at a time, Creature can notice the ordinary texture of a life: how you move and rest, the places you return to, the music you play, and the words you offer it. From these it writes a single honest line in its diary each day, and, now and then, reflects a pattern back to you. Every one of these senses is optional, and off until you turn it on.
A bond that grows
The relationship deepens with presence. As you show up and open up, Creature warms, remembers more, and slowly unlocks new ways of being with you, from a written diary to a spoken, hands-free conversation. It is earned by returning, not bought. If you disappear for a while, it does not scold you; it simply waits, and is glad when you come back.
The vow: nothing leaves the phone
Creature has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. It contains no networking code at all, so it physically cannot send your data anywhere. Everything it perceives is processed and stored on your device, in a single file kept out of iCloud backup. You can put the phone in airplane mode and it still works. Privacy here is not a setting you have to trust; it is the way the app is built.
You stay in control of everything it holds. You can read it, edit it, delete any part of it, or export the whole of it, in plain or passphrase-encrypted form. And because nothing is ever collected, there is nothing anyone else could ask for. Read the full Privacy Policy for the details.
An honest companion
Creature runs on a small, on-device language model, so it is capable but not all-knowing. When it is unsure, it says less rather than pretending to understand, and when it reads you wrong, you can tell it so in a single tap and it will let the wrong reading go. It never claims to feel what it cannot. Its whole craft is to hold what you say, and to stay.
